Infinity has been serving as the prime consultant to provide engineering and design services associated with the development of a harbor of refuge for commercial fishing vessels in Empire, LA. The project area consists of approximately 16 acres of land and surface water located off Hwy 23 south of the Empire Mississippi River Locks.

The aim of the project is to develop a facility that will serve as a harbor of refuge for 30 to 50 vessels during adverse weather, while also providing opportunities to support the growth of the Plaquemines Parish fishing economy. The newly built facilities will provide opportunities for small recreational gatherings as well as educational elements about the importance of coastal protection and restoration to the State of Louisiana.

The project includes the following civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical design elements:

• New Harbor Master Building
• 20,000 SF Open Air Pavilion
• RV Parking
• Storage for 50+ fishing vessels during periods of pending disaster
• New Parking Area with Green Infrastructure Elements
• On-Site Wastewater Treatment

Infinity is providing professional services from the preliminary study phase all the way through the construction phases; including engineering design, construction administration, and resident inspection.
