Electrical Engineer - Management

Infinity Engineering Consultants is seeking candidates for full-time management level Electrical Engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervision of the Electrical Engineering Department, oversight of production and quality control.

  • Preparation of drawing and specification packages for engineering, procurement, and construction.

  • Preparation of bid packages for requesting proposals for construction.

  • Development of one line, riser and schematic diagrams.

  • Performance of short circuit, relay coordination and arc-flash studies.

  • Fluency in the development of instrumentation and controls design packages.

  • Completion of design tasks in accordance with accepted engineering practices and standards.

  • Coordination of design activities with other disciplines and the project manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate MUST have a BS degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Registration with the Louisiana Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (LAPELS) as a PE (minimum).

  • Experience in the design of industrial facilities, such as petrochemical processing plants and storage facilities is a must. Experience in the design of commercial buildings is a plus.

  • Must be fluent in the use of Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word and other common computer programs.

Civil Engineer

Infinity is seeking candidates for a full-time Civil Engineer position for industrial, commercial and municipal projects. The candidate must have a background in civil design and project management, and have general knowledge of the design of infrastructure. Design subjects include drainage, roadways, sewerage, etc., and also some design of concrete and steel foundations and other structures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering

  • PE license preferred

  • 5+ years of engineering experience

  • Great communication skills, a positive attitude, and the desire to excel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Civil design and management of various projects to be performed by the Engineering team

  • Tracking schedules and budgets

  • Management of client relations

  • Producing reports, detailed drawings, technical specifications, and other required project deliverables

Mechanical Engineer

Infinity is seeking candidates for a full-time, experienced (8-20 years) Mechanical Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of design packages for the engineering, procurement, and construction of industrial projects.

  • Preparation of bid packages for requesting proposals for requesting proposals for construction.

  • Development of piping and instrument diagrams, instrument and valve sizing and specification, relief valve studies, pump and pipe sizing.

  • Must be fluent in the use of Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word and other common computer programs.

  • Internal project management, including the coordination of design activities, coordination with other disciplines, and monitoring budgets and resources.

  • Coordination and communication with client representative and construction contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate MUST have a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and be registered with the Louisiana Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (LAPELS) as either a PE (preferred) or as an EI.

  • Experience in the design of industrial facilities, such as petrochemical processing plants and storage facilities is a must.

  • Experience in the design of municipal facilities and commercial buildings are a plus.

CAD Designer/Field Technician

Metairie consulting engineering firm is looking for a CAD designer with 2 to 5 years of experience in working with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Revit. The position will require working on a variety of projects in the petrochemical, municipal, and commercial industries.

The ideal candidate must have an excellent understanding of structural design and construction drawing preparation including steel framing, concrete systems, structural components, and assembly details. The candidate will have supervision by a registered engineer, but must have the ability to produce detailed drawings with a basic knowledge of the scope of the project and required deliverable.

The position occasionally requires the need to visit the site to collect data and may include walking on or in: elevated platforms, MCC rooms, loading docks, or petroleum and chemical production facilities. This position does not include offshore visits. The ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) is mandatory.

Construction Inspector

Infinity Engineering Consultants, LLC is seeking candidates for CONSTRUCTION INSPECTORS needed for field and office work related to municipal construction projects. This person would be based on the project site and would be tasked with monitoring progress, tracking and reviewing submittals, RFI’s, and pay requests. Qualified candidates must have a thorough knowledge of construction methods and techniques and must be organized and have good communication skills. Experience with heavy municipal construction a must. Project locations vary in and around the New Orleans metro area and vicinity.

The CI is the engineer’s representative at the site and will act as directed by and under the supervision of an Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The CI will review and monitor progress, attend meetings with Contractor and Owner, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences and other project meetings.

  • Document observations of Contractor’s work in progress to assist Engineer in determining if the work is in general proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents. The CI will maintain at the site orderly files for correspondence, reports of job conferences, reproductions of original contract documents including all change orders, field orders, work change directives, addenda, progress reports, shop drawing and sample submittals, and other project-related documents.

  • The CI will prepare a daily report or keep a diary or log book, recording Contractor’s hours on the site, weather conditions, data relative to questions of change orders, field orders, work change directives, or changed conditions, visitors, daily activities, and observations in general.

  • The CI may be required to review applications for payment, comparing progress to a schedule of values.

  • The CI will participate in substantial completion and final acceptance walkthroughs, assisting in the preparation of lists of items to be completed or corrected.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have experience with heavy municipal construction.

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of construction methods and techniques.

  • Must be organized and have good communication skills.

  • The CI must be able to record digital photographs and electronically file and submit all required reports and correspondence through an on-line process.

  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel is preferable.

This position is for temporary employment and is for the duration of the construction project to which the individual may be assigned.
