Percy Griffin Community Center Design & Construction

Infinity served as the prime consultant for the design engineering of Percy Griffin Community Center in Davant, LA. This 14,000 square foot, elevated community center also included designs for a 2,304 sq. ft. pool house. The FEMA-funded project included design services for all structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical components, as well as construction administration. The building offers office space, computer labs, a full-service commercial kitchen, a meeting room, and several multipurpose activity rooms.

The mechanical system designs for the first floor included two variable volume HVAC systems with VAV’s, a constant volume system, and a dedicated HVAC system for the elevator machine room. The ground floor lobby also has its own dedicated HVAC system. The project also required vent design and the addition of a hot water recirculation system.

The electrical designs included interior and exterior area lighting, site lighting, walkway lighting, and parking lot lighting.

Canal Street Ferry Terminal CMAR Design & Construction

The Regional Transit Authority of New Orleans operates the Canal Street Ferry Terminal at the base of Canal Street, which provides ferry access to the city of Algiers on the opposite bank of the Mississippi River. Previously utilized for vehicles, the ferry has since been repurposed to focus solely on pedestrian traffic with the design of a new terminal building using the construction management at-risk (CMAR) delivery method.

As the prime consultant, Infinity has coordinated from the onset of the project with the contractor, Woodward Construction, to ensure an effective construction process produces cost benefits for the RTA. Infinity Engineering Consultants is providing engineering designs and developing construction drawings for selected portions of this project, which includes the following general items:

  • Ferry Terminal Foundation Design

  • Civil Site Designs; Including Water and Sewer

  • Subsurface Utility Relocation Designs

  • New Pedestrian ADA Gangways

  • Ferry Terminal Building Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing Designs

  • Design of New Wharf Structure

New Orleans East Hospital - Mechanical & Electrical Designs

The New Orleans East Hospital expansion project included the addition of a three-story structure, approximately 193,000 sqft, to the existing six-story East Tower. The expansion included the addition of ambulatory/emergency services, patient care, surgery, critical care, imaging center, and associated support services. Site work included revisions to existing surface parking areas and new public utility entrances.

Infinity Engineers provided mechanical design services including plans for specialized waste, sanitary waste, rainwater drainage, and domestic water for the hospital. Additionally, Infinity designed the on-site storage and utilities for potable water, sewer, medical gas, fuel oil, and natural gas from the project boundary to the utility access points. The on-site fuel oil storage included a 30,000 gallon double-walled above-ground UL185 tank with a duplex transfer pump and double-walled fuel oil piping.

Infinity’s electrical designs for the building included underground electrical utilities, transformers, and helipad lighting/controls. The parking area included the electrical design of new high mast metal halide fixtures, new conductors, new conduit, and associated electrical feeders. Infinity also provided the design for all low voltage (CT, IT, nurse call, telephone, and fire alarm) electrical systems for the new facility.
