Communication Towers
Infinity is uniquely qualified with specialized experience in the design and construction of communication towers in South Louisiana. Over the firm’s history, Infinity has designed and administered the construction of four (4) communication towers and associated buildings. Infinity's in-house, multi-disciplined staff is capable of performing complete designs, permitting, studies, and construction administration necessary for the project completion of communication towers. These capabilities include deep foundation designs, anchor points, equipment buildings, FCC licensing, and FAA studies.
Jefferson Parish Westbank Emergency Operations Center & Communication Tower
Infinity provided engineering designs and construction for the installation of a 300-foot self-supporting communication tower. This emergency operations center tower for Jefferson Parish also included the construction of a 600 square foot new electrical room designed to meet the International Building Code, exceeding the LA Uniform Construction Code.
The tower designs included deep foundation (80 LF concrete piles), UPS backup battery system (40 kVA), generator (150kW), and room for future expansion in the equipment building and on the communication tower. Infinity ensured the communications tower met TIA-222-G standards.
Washington Parish Emergency Operations Center & Communication Tower
For this FEMA-funded project, Infinity provided structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering as well as related construction administration for Washington Parish’s emergency operations center with a 400’ communication tower.
The mechanical designs for the 5,000 sq ft steel and pre-cast concrete operations center building included a split air conditioning system for the office area, as well as specialized computer room air conditioning systems for the emergency communication equipment room. The fire protection design included a fire water storage and pumping system for the office areas and dry agent chemical fire protection for the Emergency Dispatch and equipment rooms.
Infinity provided electrical designs for a 400 Ampere automatic transfer switch (ATS), 60 kW, 480/277 VAC, diesel power generator, and 50 kW uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for the instantaneous supply of the critical equipment at the facility.
