Structural Engineer

Infinity Engineering Consultants is seeking candidates for a full-time Structural Engineer position for industrial, commercial, and municipal projects in the New Orleans area.  Candidate must have a background in structural design and project management.  Design subjects are mainly concrete and steel foundations and structures, including waterfront structures, industrial platforms, LOW-RISE commercial buildings, small bridges, and equipment and piping supports.

Qualified candidates should have a BS or MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, EI designation required, PE license preferred, 1-15 years of engineering experience, great communication skills, a positive attitude, and the desire to excel.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Structural design and management of various projects to be performed by the engineering team

  • Tracking schedules and budgets

  • Managing client relations

  • Producing reports, detailed drawings, technical specifications, and other required project deliverables.

Structural CAD Designer (Metairie, LA)

Infinity Engineering Consultants is seeking a Structural CAD designer with 2 to 12 years of experience in working with AutoCAD, Advance Steel, and/or Revit to work within the firm’s Metairie, LA office. The position will require working on a variety of projects in the petrochemical, municipal, and commercial industries.

The ideal candidate must have an excellent understanding of structural design and construction drawing preparation including steel framing/connections, concrete systems, structural components, welding application, fasteners, and assembly details.  The candidate will have supervision by a registered engineer, but must have the ability to produce detailed drawings with a basic knowledge of the scope of the project and required deliverable.

The position occasionally requires the need to visit the site to collect data and may include walking on or in: elevated platforms, MCC rooms, loading docks, or petroleum and chemical production facilities. This position does not include offshore visits. The ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Work Identification Credential) card is mandatory.

Construction Superintendent (Arabi, LA)

Infinity Engineering Consultants, LLC is seeking candidates a for full time Construction Superintendent position needed for field and office work related to an industrial construction project at ASR's Domino Sugar Refinery. Candidates must have experience with construction at commercial or industrial facilities. Experience with electrical and mechanical systems is also required. The superintendent will be based at the project site and will be tasked with monitoring progress, directing contractors, and reviewing submittals, RFI’s, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and monitor progress, attend meetings with Contractor and Owner, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences and other project meetings.

  • Review the progress schedule prepared by the contractor, but the contractor has sole responsibility for preparing and executing the schedule.

  • Review contractor pay applications to confirm that the percentage of work completed, measurement of unit priced work in place, and verification of material in storage are reasonable.

  • Document observations of Contractor’s work in progress to assist Engineer in determining if the work is generally proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents. Maintain orderly files, including reports of job conferences.

  • Prepare a daily report or keep a diary or log book, recording Contractor’s hours on the site, weather conditions, data relative to questions of change orders, field orders, work change directives, or changed conditions, visitors, daily activities, and observations in general.

  • Coordinate with various plant entities to allow for uninterrupted operation of the plant.

  • Perform additional duties as required by the supervising engineer.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with commercial, industrial, or municipal construction as a construction foreman, construction superintendent, construction engineer, or construction manager.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with electrical and mechanical systems

  • High school education or GED, minimum.

  • Thorough knowledge of construction methods and techniques.

  • Good organization and communication skills.

  • Ability to record digital photographs and electronically file and submit all required reports and correspondence through an on-line process.

  • Ability to use common computer programs such as MS Word and MS Excel.

This position is for temporary employment and is for the duration of the construction project to which the individual may be assigned.

Pay is negotiable.
